Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Work
Course Overview
This course addresses the question every participant is carrying by Week 11: how does AI change my work and my future? It covers AI’s categories and history, then moves into the practical impact: how AI is reshaping industries, changing job roles, creating new career paths, and what specific strategies individuals can use to adapt and thrive. The course also covers AI
ethics, responsible AI principles, and emerging trends that will shape the next decade of work. Critically, the course teaches participants how to collaborate with AI rather than compete with it — how to enhance their existing skill sets using AI tools, cultivate a growth mindset toward technology, and position themselves for roles that did not exist five years ago. This is the career positioning course that bridges Week 10’s foundations to Week 12’s technical depth.
Why This Course for Week 11
Week 11 is about career trajectory. The participants are two weeks from completing the Bridge Program and entering the Mpowa assessment phase. They need to articulate not just what they know about AI, but how AI connects to their professional future. This course gives them that narrative — the ability to say, with confidence and specificity, how they plan to work alongside
AI in their chosen career path. The ECA framework identifies this phase as one where opportunity capital is either built or missed. Participants who can connect AI to their career story — who can explain how AI enhances their value rather than threatens their relevance — are the ones who will perform strongly in the Mpowa assessment. This course directly builds that capacity.
Why What Participants Will Learn
- How AI is integrated across industries — healthcare, finance, education, creative sectors — and
what that integration means for the roles participants are preparing to enter. - Strategies for collaborating with AI: using AI as a productivity amplifier, a research assistant, a
design partner, and a decision-support tool. - How to cultivate a growth mindset toward technology — treating new tools as opportunities to
learn rather than threats to existing competence. - AI ethics and responsible AI: understanding bias, fairness, transparency, and the human
responsibility that comes with using AI systems. - Emerging AI trends — including agentic AI, autonomous systems, and AI-powered workflows —
that will define the next generation of professional roles.
